Why do I need a snagging survey?
With the shear number of New Developments being built due to the unprecedented demand for New Homes in the UK, the attention to detail is often not quite what it should be as many developers are more focused on delivering volume than they are on quality.
What should I expect from a Snagging Survey
A snagging survey will highlight defects and issues where there are items that are not completed or do not comply with minimum guideline standards set out by the Warranty providers and/or Building Regulations.

The National Association of Professional Snagging Inspectors is working within the industry to improve the quality of snagging inspections for home owners by setting out minimum reporting standards, and by providing a registration platform for Snagging Inspectors to stay up to date with legislation and maintain competency.

Warranty providers each have their own guidelines and these can differ in many areas so this is important to take note of before starting. Building regulations can also differ based on regions.

Our Snagging Inspection check list consists of more than 200 items. Below is a condensed list of the main items that we inspect.

- Walls, floors, and ceilings for tolerance, and finishes

- Room dimensions where required for compliance with building regulations
- Stairs and balustrades
- Plumbing and drainage including boiler and fittings
- Radiators and thermostats
- Visual checks of Electrical distribution board
- Light fittings, switches and plug sockets
- Kitchen cupboards, sink, cooker, oven, extractor and integrated appliances
- Utility room including sink and integrated appliances
- Bathrooms including all fittings, fixtures and plumbing
